Dashboard Problem...

   Just recently I have noticed a problem on my dashboard. Part of the back lights are out and my speedo is dark up to around 30 or 40mph and all of it to the left of that area. All the warning lights and everything work fine, just part of the dash display doesn't light up. Any one know why this happens? Only thing I can think is any harsh bumps loosening a wire or something. I think its back lit by LEDs but not sure and wouldn't know how to fix it if it was. Any one have any ideas? It would be a lot of time and effort to remove the display to check without a good idea of whats wrong and parts ready to hand. Any help will be much appreciated, cannot afford time or money for faults atm! Also, would this be an MOT failure?

   Its one of the 15amp fuses under the glove box mate, Had this problem myself about a week ago!

   Got exactly the same problem but as its intermittent I know its not a fuse, like you i just assumed its a loose connection!

   I've got the same lights out upto 30 - 40.. bad in the dark going past speed cams. Mines always been out tho so will check the fuse in the glove jonny mentioned.

   if u tap the front of the dash in front of the needles i bet most of u will find they come on the dashs are pants in saxos bad connections all over the place so jus WACK IT! like i hav e to do everytime it gets dark lol

   Hi I have kind of the same problem! The lights kept going off and I had to give the dash a whack but now they don't come back on and the dash isn't working. The speedo isnt working stuck saying 56mph, the rev counter doesnt work stuck saying 4000revs and my temperture gauge isn't working either stuck just under half way. Any got any ideas? Thanks

   At the bottom of the dash (the edge)there is an earth point try tightening that.(can`t remember which side or if there`s 2)

   that sounds like a fuse mate. check your fuse box and diagram and find the fuse
