quite common in racing where you have to keep the original block but the head is free.

Can be done but its a lot of work when you can just drop in a complete engine

yh just drop a ful engine in m8, pistons, conrods and cranks are slightly diff on a vts, also you wud probably need to get a custom ecu and change a shitload of wiring

can be done with fords etc
the zetec bottom end mates up onto the cvh head. block up the oil ways you dont need, helps to do a wee bit of welding and machining, then you have a stonking motor. did it to mine, 2L 16v zetec bottom end on a 1.6 8v cvh head

never herd of it done on a saxo with the 8v and 16v TU motors.
the ax boys fit the vtr bottom end onto the ax head but they are both 8v.

Can be done. Only real difference in b/ends are pistons, rods, and if the vtr block has the hole for the vts cam belt tensioner. Cranks are the same.

Then you have to worry about using vts management.

Easier to get a full vts engine as a whole if thats all you're going for but if building up a forged b/end for a vts in the background then a vtr one could be used as donor which is quite useful.
