alternator i think?

   driving along guys and my battery light came on, every think slowly started to die and with in two minits car had broken down and neaded a tow home with no brakes or window wipers, surely this has to be an alternator init? any help wanted, thanks

   more than likly mate! try charging the battery up and leave car runnig if does it agen defo alternator, had the same prob but mine was the battery! try tht first

   im sure it is as well, heating and pas and heated back window failed the other week and got a fix for it on here, hoping its nothing to do with this! ....

   charge ur battery, get the car started then put a multimeter accross the battery, if uve got 12v then the alternator is dead, if uve got 14 then alternator is fine. I had this happen before in a rover, thought it was the alternator but turned out to be the actuall wireing loom

   havent got a multimeter got my mechanic coming here today with a recond part, he was sure it was an alternator if not i will refer him to this page to do his homework....
