Cutting out on idle.

  1. #1
Recently my saxo VTS has been idling abit funny.. somtimes i can see it chucking the revs up and it takes a while for it to settle out with out applying the throttle, but today when ever ive come to the lights or let it idle out for about 20seconds it cuts out.

Could this be the idle control valve?

    Thankyou, Dave

Sounds like it, but a few posts recently have mentioned similar issues which have been corrected by resetting the ECU. (as in disconnecting the battery for a few hours)

could be that ya need new lambda sensor or new air box (bad breathing sometimes causes it), could be many things so and its a common problem in millions of the buggers. could be ecu or fuel problem etc... lamba sensor and new gen 2 air box fixed mine

my vtr did it all the time, i grew to live with it, it had a personality and that involved it throwing the toys out when i left it idling, it wanted me to spank it
