Hi everyone i have a horrible feeling that at some point next year i may have to look at swapping the gearbox on my mk2 vts. When i initially drive it in a morning 2nd gear is quite hard to engage. Once the engine gets warmer and temperatures start rising it does get better but i do seem to have to be careful engaging 2nd because some times i get a slight crunch. Also when slowing down in third i get a slight (not very loud) whine.
Does this sound like the box is getting a bit tired to you?
Where is the best place to get a refurbished box from? Dont want to risk one from a scrappy really as until you drive it you dont no what its like.
Any help would be much appreciated.
