1.1 east coast, what do do? pic added.

  1. #1
Right so its prity standard. im not sure what i should do or add. i was thinking an OMP strut, K&N filter?

  2. #2
i was also thinking of a ECU Cover, and mabye get some blue tubing? but im thinking that tubing will be a bit to much.
  3. #3
In all fairness theres not alot you can do to the 1.1's to make them faster.

Induction filter and erm, tart up the engine bay like you said, coloured hoses. not sure about the strut brace unless you whack it around a bit.

    Exterior wise, theres shedloads!
  4. #4
Looks pretty damn good to begin with mate.

Simple induction kit to give you a bit more feedback from the engine and that'll be alright that
  5. #5
    thats clean as
  6. #6
there are a few rusty bolts etc, im gona spray a bit of WD40 on them to clean it up abit.

i know im not that good with cars but im guessing this is a filter? looks untidy, what is it i need a new one lol! sorry this is my first car and im learning as i go along.

im also going to get some orange cleaner

and ill use autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care i guess.
  7. #7
Nah, its just a pipe that goes from the exhaust manifold to the filter, helps keep the car going in the cold IIRC

nothing filtery in there, and you can tart it up if you want but it won't really do much!
  8. #8
Follow that pipe to the back of the engine bay, attached to the RHS of the black rectangular plasticky thing will be a cylinder, your air filter's inside there

As chinkostu said, thats just a pipe taking warm air from the manifold into the engine. Theres a sensor and if the engines cold itll take air from there to help warm it up quicker.

that is clean.... u shud c under my bonnet lol i call it a work in progress
  10. #10
i have a ecu cover sprayed posiblue on mine also i sprayed the little box thing near the red thing (fule cut of switch i think), and im going to spray the fuse box when i can (the one next to the battery, a strut brace looks nice imo, you could also do things like polish the manifold cover, blue ht leads, spray the rocker cover (not to my taste but up to u) but make sure you get heat paint and alot more probs but thats all i can think of atm lol
  11. #11
where can i find some ht leads? yeah im thinking i will get a strut brace and spray it blue simply because it looks cool! its going to be hard to choose an ecu cover i might just go for silver.

could people post some 1.1 engine bay pic's?
  12. #12
    Heres a 1.0 engine pic.

Thats just got a raceland air filter and omp strut brace fitted.
  13. #13
im not too keen on the air filter but i realy do like the strut and ecu cover! ive had a look at some ignition leads, there are a few out there but got £50 it realy seems a high price to pay. im going to eventualy but those two deffo!

Cleanest standard 1.1 ive ever seen
  17. #17
yeah would love my 1.1 to be that clean
  18. #18
yea man pm me some tips cos i need to clean mine before i put pics up lol
  19. #19
tbh the main reason its so clean was the couple i bought the car from, the only stuff i have realy done to it eas give it a good wash, jet wash in some places, sad i know i used a sponge and some fairy liquid lol. and for the black bits i spent ages with a couple cans of back to black (wilko's own £1.99) carefully spraying an old dish cloth and wiping the black pipes i saw, obv i left itto dry lol i wasent sure if it would burst in to flames when i started the car.

i realy dont know why i spent so long cleaning it it hasent changed how the car drives but i felt realy proud when i was done. im still waiting on some orange cleaner t clean off the mucky parts i missed. its got 76k on the clock if anyone was interested.

How much did that carbon cost you? That looks so good, any difference felt with the strut brace?
