  1. #1
hi all, just wondering how much rear braking power i could get for £300
  2. #2
its not worth it most of the braking is done by the front

think he means a rear brembo set-up mate

std discs with decent rear pads (not greenshit btw) shouldnt cost more than £150 really.

dont need huge spec on the rear

solid disks and aggressive pads would be my choice. Would have £200 left for other mods too.

Fitting massive disks and pads isn't always the best option. I managed with drum brakes on the rear of my old track 205.

The 309 with have disks all around but that will be considerably faster

as said on the rear there i no point

the reason is when you brakes the weight shifts off the rear wheels
if you have big brakes they will just lock the wheels as soon as the weight comes off them

im planning on using drums on my westcoast track toy and that wont be about standard vts pace hopefully

as said, you dont really want good brakes at the back, on my race car we try everything to stop them locking up! ive got 2 bias valves in the car and standard disks and pads on the back and they still lock up. just get a new set of standards.

are the omp pads any good mate? there listed as race/sport but seem cheap

917c pads are £42 just found them
  15. #15
no point in carbon lorraine pads on the rear unless you enoy buying new discs often
  16. #16
OMP pads are good, old friend of mine had them on his gti on the rear, lasted quite a while too!

ferodo are also very good, as far as the mentioned greenstuff gear - had them on our car and they have been exellent, no break dust issues, no break fade issues, no warped or crack or glazed disks even after we had a calliper sieze(sp) and the disk was bright orange, let it cool and it was fine and still on the car!!!!! just my opinion

there are loads to choose from like:-
AP, Black Diamond, Brembo, EBC, Ferodo, Goodridge, Mintex, Nitrac, Pagid, Red Dot, Rotor Discs, Tarox.

    which ones though dude?
  19. #19
sounds more like you just need to adjust the rear bias valve to match the bigger front brakes.

on the other hand wp pro make some huge 300odd mm rear brakes, keeps ur origional calipers. think there from puma racing.

no point unless you are soing it on show car.

use massive spacers for the caliper etc..
  22. #22
if you wanna be like that theres no point upgrading the rear brakes to anything other than standard, as they do very little.

if you want better braking at the rear, give your bias valve a tweek.
  23. #23
not at all, but a large disc upgrade on the rear is a waste of money when a decent set of discs and pads can be got for small £££, and dont require a spacer for the caliper.

Are the OMP pads any good? Could do with some new pads, only on standard calipers and drilled and grooved discs. Got the greenstuff pads at the minute think there shit.
