#3for looks. and its also ment to let more hot air out. n i suppose a bit more cold air in.
-
#5Originally created for modified cars with throttle bodies for clearance and temperature reasons, but mainly used for style now.
Saying that i do have a set on my saxo and in traffic and idle i have noticed the bay temperature is much lower than before without them! -
#6think they look shit tbh, just looks like you have ran into somthing and your bonnet has been pushed up,
but thats just my opinion

#8most people will think youv'e had an accident1 user thanked this post:

#9They look much better on mk1's than on mk2's, as the square bonnet looks better raised than the mk2 bonnet which has the grille in it
-
#10iv got them on my ph2 vtr n i think they look pretty good.
suppose u either like it or u dont though
-
#11On a standard-ish car, they are just simply a styling mod.
-
#12They dont look too bad imo, i just cant figure out how to do it

#17Lol ive got bonnet raisers on my saxo which is now off the road due at an accident. and ofcors after the accident my dad said youve got the look youve always wanted now!
-
#18thay look poo tbh
but there to let hot air out -
#19im fitting mine this weekend weather permiting
-
#21i only think bonnet raisers look in place on a rally car/race car. On road legal cars they look blagh, i bet people who dont know the car think the bonnet catch isnt done properly assuming the bonnet opens forward.
-
#22When to the Scrap yard today, and saw this car, Check out those bonnet raisers

Thats why i don't like them, as it looks like you have crashed lol

#29it looks okay, you need to tidy some of your car too

-
#30i know the inside needs a goody tidy up didnt dare take pics of that lol
in what way john -
#31Just a wash and polish etc

For those that don't know what they are or how they fit.
Simply spacer that go between the bonnet and the hinge. Longer bolts are used. This is a pic of mine, its a one inch bonnet raiser -
#33True sometimes they look poop, but if you are modifiying your car for performance and not just styling then you have to remember 'function over form'. Personally on the right car i think they look ok.
-
#34there suppose to let the hot out, and cool air in to the throttle bodies ending in more power apparently? haha personally, i cant see a power increase?
-
#35Got them on my mk1, think they look good on it, although I wouldnt have them on a mk2. Can get them for less than a fiver posted on ebay so its not a massive amount of money lost if you dont like them tbh.
-
#36I'll be fitting mine during the week on my mk1. Only doing it to see what the temp difference is and if there's better response from my carbs.
