hiya ive had my 98 saxo for about 5 months....been having problems with the "tic" over. ive read that the coil pack may need replacing or the idle control needs a good clean. but after sending it to the garage for both of these things done it has come back to me with exactly the same problem (uncle garage so the works has been carried out! lol). IT ONLY HAPPENS THE FIRST TIME I TRY TO START THE CAR EACH DAY. i have to keep my foot on half revs, then start it, then slowly drop the revs down, until it sticks at 1000rpm. if i dont do this it drops suddenly to 500rpm then cuts out. its so annoying because this car is mint to drive but only once i have done all this shit!! please help cheers. REMEMBER THIS ONLY HAPPENS THE FIRST TIME I TRY TO START IT OFF EACH DAY. EVERY OTHER START THROUGHOUT THE DAY IS PERFECT!Joosh
Important! : only in the mornings

#2I would of said fuel pump but i doubt it would be that if its only in the mornings. You may need to replace the ICV rarther than just clean it. as there could be a fault with it.
