saxo induction 1.1 help

  1. #1
Hi I have a 2003 1.1 saxo and wanted a induction kit. I was hoping someone could tell me what would give most bhp and sound good i no its not going to gain much if anything. But i had a astra 1.4 wen i passed my test about 8 months ago and i put cheap induction kits on it and it was just crap and do you no if a raceland induction kit will fit my 1.1.

no induction kit will help performance of your car.. no offence, sorry

BMC cda, or raceland, and i dont kow if the raceland one will fit your 1.1, but whats teh point in spending nearly £200, just to do barely anything. there really is no point in doing it mate.
  4. #4
its pointless tbh mate. save the money for a vtr ot vts more worth while i put a green filter on mine and it sounds better but no performance at the end of the day its a 1.1 im in the same boat buddy
  5. #5
the raceland can be made to fit the 1.1

You may need to get a few extra pipes though so that it will extend to your throttle body.

Its under £100 for the kit and you can swap it to the new car you have if you get another Saxo / 106

yea i gatherd that well if i get the filter and just drop it in will it make any more noise and i reely dont wana make have any problems witch is why i dont minde paying more for a good one would it be worth getting the backbox
  7. #7
    backbox - for noise YES
    backbox - for power NO

and if you want noise get an open filter like a K an N or green or pipercross, there louder than enclsed ones, but dont do much in the ay of power.

yea i had a green filter on my old car open one and it sounded nice i might as well just get a vtr only thing is im 18 so insurance. also i do alot of miles and if i buy a vtr it will have more miles on it and be older

get a 1.4, furio or westcoast, there alright and wont be that bad on insurance for ya.
  10. #10
at 18 vtr insurance isnt bad there not the fastest car in the world. only group 7 so not really that bad get some quatoes mate. vtr are really nice nippy and good loooking worth having a look rather than wasting money on a 1.1
  11. #11

it isnt wasting money if he buys an indunction kit on his 1.1 because he can just put it on his vtr when he gets it,

and the raceland are a direct fit mate, i didnt have to get anyouther parts to fit mine to my 2000 reg 1.1, they sound reli nice but are not to loud u reli here it when you put your down, only ever get complements for the sound of my car, dosent make oit anyfaster but makes it rev up alot quicker, hasent affectod the fule consumption either strange reli but true
  13. #13
so if i get a raceland one it should fit is it forword to fit.or do you no if any other induction kits will fit a 1.1 2003
  14. #14
wouldnt bother if iw as you i was thinking about it on mine. i suppose you could swap it onto another saxo, but you may not buy another saxo when you come to get another car. also dont put jsut a backbox on, 90% of the time these actually affect performance in a bad way, drops power unless its with a new pipe and mani
  15. #15
hi is my saxo 1.1 2003 a mpi thanks
  16. #16
on a 2003 it would be mpi yes
  17. #17
yea its an mpi, im not sure what other indunction kits fit, ive seen then with pipercross filters on
  18. #18
pic of mine just to show u how well they fit, i kno ppl tell you its not worth it but i think it is, looks good when you open your bonnet and sounds reli nice

I take the piss when I post this

BUT in all honesty raceland, bmc, pipercross any of those will do if a MPi as wiganmans saxo. If spi like Jon minty then may need to get more inventive

lol could do usual stuff applies, wish had a 1.1 again used to go stupid fast with that setup on, used to bone XS and VTRs happily.

But back on topic Raceland, BMC, Pipercross, K&N depends what budget is and if your after more sounds or minimal gains
