Green cottom ram air

  1. #1
FFS I keep seeing a new one nearly every bloody day...

Had my mind set on a k&n gen 2, until I saw the price of how much a green cotton ram air one is these days...like £149, same price as the bmc

Am sure the enclosed one always seems to get rather good results....

Peoples reviews and pic please boys and girls

  3. #3

  4. #4

the filter in that link is made by green mate.
  11. #11
    but the casing aint
  12. #12
is the casing going to make much difference though? they are both plastic.

only reason i would get the proper green over the raceland green would be the fitment.
  13. #13
Leeroy I think that we've got a couple knocking around. Might be able to sort you out with a discount.

The Green and Raceland are almost identical in design and one does not fit better than the other

not so much abouit fitment, but the green is a much much higher quality filter
  19. #19
Sure it comes with the fixtures to fit it to the front panel, where as the raceland doesn't
  20. #20
The fitment on the raceland is pretty shit iirc. The holes never line up...
  21. #21
    Just flogged mine Dan
  22. #22
my green came with holes to fit it to were the standard air box bolts to slam panel but tbh it sat too low and was resting on the radiator, even though it says direct fitment all aftermarket parts are just about universal, always require some tinkering, my funnel has started to crack, butthats my fault for leaning on it when doing my pas pipes
  23. #23
I've always been under the impression the cda is the best? Or one of them anyway for the price.
  24. #24
Wanna be different Yo Dan r Yo

    Everyone has the BMC innit
  25. #25
There's a reason though Bro. Tried and tested is always good. Why not be different and get an ebay electric supercharger iiiiiight.
  26. #26
I saw a 106 owner with one Dan on Friday night

    Awesome bit of kit

Even had a dump valve on a vacuum pump..

Best mods I have ever seen lol

Agreed Dan but there are other decent filters out there
  27. #27
Do ITG do one for a saxo?
  28. #28
Yep £385 for the carbon one feck that!!1
  29. #29
Ah fair enough, they get good results on the 206.

Do they make a big difference over standard?
  30. #30
Review on the ITG was awesome

But i know anyone who has one cos they were so expensive
  31. #31
itg if you want to be different lol

    get a loan out
  32. #32
    Give over

Buy me it for Xmas Pred
  33. #33
the k&n gen 2 is not fully enclosed bud.

the green cotton enclosed is and takes the air direct from you slam panel/grill area.

i loved the one i had on my vtr, made a canny difference with the 421 fannymold and the full magnex system

i would go for the green cotton.

or just get a pipercross panel filter and fit a direct air feed pipe to the standard box from the bottom of the engine bay/bumper.

unless you are just wanting it for the noise lol
  34. #34
the green kit is good, but a little fragile. have had to repair mine twice now but it's bloody good and the sound is great.
  35. #35
i think they all crack and are a bit fragile after a while.

    procomp all the way
  36. #36
    Noise Boz

Gen2 Made a massive difference on manic's old car
  37. #37
i dont think they are worth the cash

just do the old air box thing and drill some holes in it, v6 growl ftw
  38. #38
Na have standard box in now its shit

Trying to find 2nd procomp these days is like finding hens teeth!
  39. #39
i have a box of hens teeth mate, got them when i was in asia
  40. #40
    Find me a procomp
  41. #41
    I love mine:

  42. #42
i dont have any procomps lying about in the garage lol
  43. #43
I have got onto a contact on SSC....fingers crossed something comes up
  44. #44
Leeroy, for best performance, the choice has to be Ecosse. The shell is made from fibreglass, so it's got excellent heat reflection, it's light, and it comes with Samco hosing, not some poxy thin piece of metal... I've also wrapped mine with insulation stuff - It stays cold.
  45. #45
Didnt CiTuning do them pretty cheap? A buddy of mine got an ex demo one (sat in a glass case for a couple of months) for £90, billy bargain. Shame their customer service sucks donkey kongs gentleman vegitable
  46. #46
    ohhh might look into it

I had the ecosse on the gti i have......only probs is it has it write on it in massive letters and it was a piprcross foam filter back in those days

    Recess' red gti?
i would go for the K&N gen 2, looks mint and chris from manic motors has shown me the ones he had in his old demo car, fits amazing.
not a fan of the bmc, failing that an itg or procomp would be nice but pricey.
and concerning the raceland one, id rather push my car then have the engine running with that piece of crap on.
