Manifold Problem, help!

   Hey i was driving the other day and all of a suden there was a sort of cracking sound. Part of the exhaust system was then trailing along the road under the car. It appears that either from rust or wear the part of the manifold just before it links to the upper exhaust system has completely snapped.
   
   Is it possible to reconnect these two parts by welding or something or is a new manifold neccesary? Also is it easy fitting a new manifold?

   if its the manifold mate, you can pick up 2nd hand ones, i have a garage full. or you can get an uprated 4-2-1 manifold. they range in price, but you can pick up a stainless steel raceland one up for the price of a brand new manifold from citroen.
   
   will make your car a wee bit more responsive as well
   
   i really wouldnt recomend welding the standard manifold, its cast and is a bitch to weld, you really need to weld it when both part of the manifold are nearly white hot.
   otherwise the weld wont hold and wont last 2mins

   cheers, how easy is a manifold to fit on a 51 plate vtr?

   not the hardest thing in the world
   litle bit fiddly getting all the nuts back on but itll take around an hour if you know what your doing
