    Hi all

Has anyone come up with a solution to stop the parcel shelf bouncing & rattling? its doing my head in.I`ve tried wrapping insulation tape around the little locating dowels.

Yeah pretty sure i`ve had that trim off & lined it with foam inside.I know its the parcel shelf because i`ve got someone to put their hand on the shelf & the rattle goes.

where is it exactly rattling against?

The "plastic bit on the boot" as peeface put it commonly rattles with saxo's and makes an irritating squeak rather than rattle. Have you checked the third brake light cover? You should have little rubber grommet attached to the "plastic bit on the boot" to stop a rattle there, ensure they've not moved and are still doing their job.

As your sitting in the drivers seat looking over your left shoulder to the passenger side of the parcel shelf it seems to be rattling where the locating dowel goes into the trim.It bounces on that side i`ve checked to see if the shelfs warped & its not.Removing the shelf the noise goes but from a security point of view I don`t want people gawping in the boot.

Right i`ve found out how to fix the rattle, the edge of the shelf nearest to the back of the rear seat there is a small gap. What you do is to get a piece of foam tape or the spongy insulation stuff found on pipes(plumbing etc)& fix to either the shelf or the back of the rear seat. This acts a a cushion stopping or quieting down the rattle.

Thanks, I'll try this on mine. I didn't have this annoying rattle until I took the rear seat out to transport some furniture. I put everything back as it was and have been left with the left side rattling.
