#23.5 litres with filter change i believe
-
#3Did that today.
Sump vavle came off with a 24mm rachet bit. Be careful not to lose the copper washer in the oil as the oil will come squirting out. Make sure you have a tray to collect the old oil.
Lower car down and let it drain for 10 mins or so, that the car is level
change filter
Do sump valve back up TIGHT!
I got Halfrauds 5L 10W -0 Oil (I think thats it)
Put about 3/4 in the engine
Started car and let it tick over for 5 mins, checked levels and added more when nessercy. -
#44.5 Litres the sump is.. Says in my the Saxo handbook.
-
#5so i will be ok getting a 5ltr bottle yeah? cheers buddy.
-
#6No chance 4.5L oil. VTS engine vith filter collects 3.5-3.75L. No CHANCE 4.5L
-
#7When you put the oil in & start up for the 1st time let the oil light go out on its on(gain pressure naturally)if you rev it can damage the engine.
Steve. -
#8cheers for that didnt no to do that buddy cheers.

#9lol at putting 4.5l of oil in
sure mine only really takes around 3ltrs, i always fill just above max, tend to get the 5ltr bottle and drain old stuff out, leave the sump open and poor oil thru to clean it out a bit more.
also Danny you know that you can buy those copper washers, doesnt matter if you lose it! really you should change it each time you change the oil, did you also miss a digit from the oil you put in? 10w 0? i put 5w40 fully synthetic for mine, for shorter journeys so warms up quicker, dont need fully synthetic, but i prefer it in my beast
i always jack up both sides when draining oil as all the oil will go to the back of the sump, where the drain plug is
-
#10It's 2.5l with filter (VTS)
You're putting Halfords oil in? Someone has to I spose
-
#11do not over tighten the sump or you will be looking at a new sump tray, these should be torqued, but most people don't have torque wrenches, hand tighten the sump plug then nip it, just keep dipping the stick and adding until you have a perfect reading, and if it was me i would stay away from halfords parts, citroen parts are slightly dearer for a reason
-
#121.6 all models 3.5 ltrs with filter change 100% or i will eat my dipstick
-
#13ive still not got around to dropping the oil out yet for a oil change, been alittle busy lately, i need to no for sertain how much oil it takes to get it to the max on the dipstick, you say 3.5l yeah cheers, which oil does the saxo need standard then is it 10w 40? or would i be better of with 5w 40? im not really clued up on oil ya see lol. thanks again fellows.
