im unsure of a saxos weight as standard but its around 890? kg from looking on the net.

Now what have you done to reduce weight. people should do this first no matter which way they mod unless they need there car standard.
ITS FREE, You lot that think you can turbo you saxo with 50p should take advantage of this free power

every track guy does this but even on street/ daily use its good mod .

like a motorbike 50bhp but weights nothing so goes like the clappers

so if you add power to your saxo and reduce weight then it should also go like the clappers.

i aint no fan of over striiping, such as grinding bits from the doors ect, just bits you unbolt , remove like sound deadening ect and still looks ' ok '

so what have you removed? and did you feel the car ' pull ' any harder after.

this day and age less money spent is better.

im sure a cammed vts with standalone well mapped , unneeded weight rmoved ect should be able to be as quick as a type r , clio 172

my old sc vts took past a civic type r like it wasnt moving but to get ' civic ' speed in a mildly tuned vts then its thousands cheaper than a type r and cheaper. inaway.....

    weight ideas

oh ye the best iv done is remove spare wheel and cage and dewipering <when i can be arsed lol

im a bit of a whore for weight (but ill get beaten by don55 in a bit with his vts)
    got a westcoast
    its got the following missing
all interior including dash heater carpet seats all sound deadening all unessecry brackets (angle grinder ftw) plastic scuttle door locks elecrtic windows (getting fixed polycarbs) brackets in engine bay such as loom clips
studs under car for heat sheilds spare wheel cage and hanger brackets
    sunroof is coming out
all glass apart from screen will be polycarb soon
angle ground inner skin of bootlid
    going to do bonnet too
getting a half cage and some seats for it next year so its sofe(ish) to use on track

had a fairly well stripped 1.1i and it would keep with my mates vtr till about 65ish
also cornered very well (on spax suspension with thicker rear arb and vtr brakes up front)

sound deadening form in side car and under bonnet.

no but it wouldnt be a fair comparison as i dont have the citroen engine in it
plus atm its not running (hasnt since i bought it)

i will say im expecting to outrun vtrs in it
vts might put up a bit more of a fight though lol

tbh its not about the acceleration its about the handeling chearcteristics
the car rolls less brakes a lot better and generally is quicker round the twisties
