Bypassing EBD And Using Mk1 Brake Bias Valve

  1. #1
Can it be done, as the mk2 use a EBD and dont have the rear bias valve.
What would need to be done to stick one on?

Dont really want to change my master cylinder again, but need a bit more braking on the rear.

    Sure alexr done it.

lol, your a fuck nut haha, why would you need to change MC to use an aftermarket bias valve? you need it on some brake rollers to decide how much rear braking you need imo.

I'm just going to get my ABS completely removed. It's on the piss as it is... I'm not sure how the bias will be dealt with though.

    No, mk2.

you will probably need a bias valve, if you brake really heavy it will lock the rear first because of the lack of weight on the rear. if this happens you will start to slide and could crash. mine does it on my vtr but thats the because the valve isnt setup properly

^^ missing the point i want more braking on the rear.

Anyone got any idea what would happen if I took out all the ABS equipment?
  13. #13
and done nothing else? you need to fit all new brake lines. im removing mine and the EBD and fitting a bias valve instead.

I was speaking to a garage who said they would happily do the work for me. They said they would have to do some other work, i.e., with the lines and what have you, but we never discussed a bias valve. I'm wondering what would happen with this, if all the electrical parts to the ABS were removed.

if you had no rear bias control then your car would be written off in a hedge very quickly imo, is yours 3 plug? the garage may not know that the 3 plugs dont use a mechanical load compensator.

Tis a 3 plug. So any idea what would happen if all the ABS equipment was taken out? They do know that it has EBD, as we were test driving it and discussing for ages why the car wasn't braking correctly. As we couldn't adjust the rear braking, we discussed removing all the ABS parts... So I will need a bias valve installed for sure then?

yep, not in future, as so as you do it as you will need to set the rear bias.
