just got a vts lump and have bin told the belt went while the car was stationary but i know the valves will be shot..payed 50 quid fair price? got all the starter inlet and mani as well. what parts will i be looking at to re build the head and is it a east job? or is it better to go some were who knows what to do? and how much would this cost? cheers

edit- before any one says i did have a look but couldnt find the specifics

to be fair m8 if you are comfident with mechasnics and you have the space, tools and time go for it. the only tricky part is timing it all back up but saying that that isnt that hard if you have the "know how".

i rebuilt the top-end outta that motor i got from your old vts

its easy stuff to do, only specialised tool ya need is the press for getting the valve's out and a hex'd / star socket with a torque wrench for bolting the head down.

who ya get the motor off, irvine?

(valves and new seals from senars, is prob ya best bet)

press for getting valves out? you mean valve spring compressor?

get some grease mate to help you get the collets back onto the valves. or, send it all to me and i'll rebuild it for £40.
