Just curious, what power do you think my vts is running?

  1. #1
I've never been in another vts neither have my friends but mine just pulls like a total train specially in 2nd/3rd/4th gears. was just wondering roughly how much power do you guys think i'm running?

Current mod's are full serviced with new sparks, oil, filters etc, power flow cat back system straight pipe no mid silencers and race land enclosed induction system. I personally would say between 130-135? but not sure.

    130 m8 barely get 145 - 150 with ph3 cams or 708's m8 n a re map
  3. #3
160 bhp + easy, or you could put it on some rollers to get a real idea thats not a guess.
  4. #4
    43hp

could have some dodgy sensors making it have less power
  5. #5
about 127.2 bhp at the most...

    160 bph cool! haha

Yeah i've been thinking about putting it on some rollers just i don't want to be dissapointed with like a 115 bph figure but im sure this isnt the case!

    ryan you make me laugh
  8. #8
about 130 but its not unheard of for them to make 135 on that sort of set up

what would be an appropriate one ryan?
  11. #11
I have the same on mine including a sports cat and a 4-1 manifold, any guess on what mine runs?
  12. #12
Probs about 124Bhp max. Don't get carried away with rubbish like 'I got 139Bhp with just a Raceland' etc.

If it's over stock power and pulls well then happy days!
  13. #13
doesn't matter what the printout says, its how the car performs that matters to me.

but seriously, you'll be on pretty much standard power.
  14. #14
    I think between 125-130bhp max.

    do you come here often?

You're best off going on a RR. Seriously, you cannot guess these things really. Some engines are healthier than others and so run better power. I remember my mates 106GTI, cant remember what power it was running, but all he had was a manifold, pugsport and ind kit and it had daft amounts of power compared to some. And it was sticking with Scoobys at Santa Pod and thrapsing Civic TypeR's (several times as the guy in the TR refused to be beaten).

i would personally say 124 if your lucky.
But seen as though it pulls like a train it could be 125.

Let me have a go of your car and i will tell you what it drives like.

so would rather guess a stupid number to make your self feel happy?
if the cars running smooth and feels healthy, thats all that matters imo
oh and of course your not getting beat by 8v's in straight lines

to add ive seen (it was mine ffs) a vts run 112 at flywheel with a bmc induction supersprint decat and piper backbox

it drove quite reasonably (i thought) but obv wasnt right
a new stepper motor and a service later it was ok

pretty much standard power tbh. as a rough guide depending on how well your engine has been looked after and how many miles you have done, how often its been serviced etc..... but you will probably be getting-
    - approx- 130hp - 135hp with all breathing mods (including de cat)
    - approx- 145-150 hp with fast road cams (ph3s or 708s) un mapped
    - approx-150-155hp with fast road cams and a map of the ecu
    - approx-155-160 ish with fast road cams a re map and head work (skimmed port and polish and tested)

    a very rough guide lol
some mapped cat cam 708s make under 150 some make nearer 160 depends who does it and the rollers.

i need to read before i post ignore me
  24. #24
yea obviousley it it not an exact guide, andy widds vts made something like 168hp with just breathing mods on well lane turbos rollers (miles out) where as after the car had been cammed it made 157.4hp on chip wizards rollers, so yea its not an exact measure but its not far off. alot of the times it is the rollers that are out

i wasnt taken the piss out of you btw.

168? fpmsl andy hadnt even had a remap just a chip to raise the limiter iirc

i no mate its mad how far different sets of rollers can be out! madness! i might put my car on well lanes rollers for a laugh!
  27. #27
rolling road read out mean jack shit imo, its all just forum banter and pub ammo. lol

if your car drives well, then who cares??

yes, its nice to know that your car kicks out 'X' amount of bhp and torque.
i can defo see the point of the rr sessions, to set up the car to its optimum for the mods it has etc.

i really think i would do a RR session and not ask for the print out, as long as i was happy with the person setting up the car etc.

they need calibrating on a regular basis, by a competant person.
i have seen and heard so many, my car has this and that stories.

its all down to the way the car drives and responds to the mods you have.

    thats just my opinion
  28. #28
i have seen standard vts's getting 135+bhp on the mobile RR at track days and car shows.

come on, would you really trust a pikey with a mobile RR?
it wouldnt be something i would brag about.

if i had it done at a reputable place, then a may brag about it, but i cant see the point lol
  29. #29
easy car / engine is different.
different condition, mileage, etc. some could have been be fitted with items of a different tolerance etc.

its hard to say what each car will get with the same mods.
then you have the setting up of the car, im sure each tuner has his own way and ideas on how to program and setup a car on the rollers.
things like the calibration of the rollers and even the weather on the day of the RR session can have an effect on read outs.

we all know how bad LAD sydrome can be lol
im sure a standard vts with just an air filter on will get a read out of 140bhp on their rollers
