    im 17 and got my first car for christmas, a 1.1i saxo, ive had it 36 hours and the clutch has gone and the gear lever feels like it isnt connected to the gear box anymore, im sure its not something you can explain over the internet just thought i would share my misfortune...........

    how do you know clutch is gone? sounds like a gear linkage has come off as said above. they are only a couple of quid.

    because it smoked like hell and when you press the clutch pedal i feels non existant

    i gotta be honest when i drove my mates 1.1 saxo it felt that.

    I want to get a VTR in june but i got a 96 clio atm the pedals are much heavier and the saxos feel really light.

    i think its just how its designed bud

    is there any resistance against your foot when you press the clutch in or could you press it down with a feather? wheck your linkages as could just be that one has popped of and just needs pushing back on. also check like your cluch cable.
