I have one of the Newman PH1 in my VTR, wouldnt recommend it at all, offers hardly any performance increase and is the worse choice in mods I made on my VTR . Is a very expensive mod to fit also, a cam change on a VTR requires the head to come off which means all the coolant, oil, head gasket etc etc needs to be replaced, importantly you need to change the valve springs also as they are very soft and with a cam change which pushes them hard you dont want a valve sticking open and banging on a piston.

If you really want to change your cam in your VTR go for the PH3, this will give you a better performance increase for your money, will require a remap thou...

Glad to hear it answered your questions pal.

If you want to see how my experiment with a Newman Ph1 went look at my VTR progress thread.

Having modded my VTR and now onto my new VTS I can without doubt confirm the wait will be worth it, the VTS it everything the VTR is'nt and on paper it may only seem like there is only 30bhp between them but that 30bhp makes a HUGE difference.
