Do i laquer the Inside of the headlights?

  1. #1
Hi im currently painting the inside of the headlights black on my mk2. Ive got the black paint layer on now and its nice and dry. What do people think about leaving it with a matt look finish, even tho i used a gloss paint, or put laquer on it.
Would like to no what you lot may think would be best

id leave them matt, don't think they'd look good shiny myself

just realised.... how can you leave it matt when you used gloss paint... surely its shiney anyway.

    laquer it !!

you dont want a dull finish on them mate, its your headlights you want them to reflect as much light as possible so matt black would be a silly choice tbh......

safety before looks for me, surely you want them to be bright as poss?

if you leave them matt your lights will be dull!

firstly, i get the impression your a young lad who didnt do well at school judging by your comments

secondly, off course it affects the lights, before you spray them what colour are they eh? mirrior like arent they!?

so if your spraying them black you going to loose a hell of a lot of reflection, even my little sister knows that.

if your making them black like i did, you want lots of laquer to compensate.

thirdly, you might think im 'silly' but i think your fucking stupid!!

danyalson- heat them back up mate they should go back easily, then pop the clips back on. job done

actually PETE-VTR it doesnt matter if they are matt black or gloss black laquered or not as he should not be spraying the mirror part of the light, just the insert. see picture below

this part plays very little part in how bright the reflection of the light it. (excluding the indicator)

maybe you should think about what you are posting before trying to 'show up' other members

Actually, i think you can in the day, so long as you have front indicators. It's only when it starts getting dark you will get done. Not dead sure, but im sure I heard it somewhere before.
