need help

    I was driving my car normaly yesterday then when i stoped and put it into first then tryed 2 move i had lost all gears it isnt the gear linkage does anyone no what it could be ??

    gearbox knackered, if not it could only be the linkage's so if you said that the linkages are fine then its only the box, as far as im aware

    could be the cables!!

    my misses cables snapped and same thing happened and I had to drive it home in 1st gear lmao!!

    yeh, clutch cable could have gone, or the clutch all together, new clutch aint cheap, but cheaper than a gearbox..

    if its the clutch, its more likely that you cant get it in/out of gear, rather then there not being a gear there, when you put the gearstick in place, if this makes sense lol

    theres a few things it could be, nackerd box, or one of the shafts could have broke off, where it goes into the gearbox, just the splined bit, therefore the dif just spins that bit and no drive goes to wheels.

    to test for this, jack the front of the car up, put it in gear, and spin one wheel by hand, if the oposite wheel turns the oposite way, then this it not your problem.
