things i have found from tyres i have used:

Yoko Parada spec 2's - soft side walls, rubbish in the wet, good on track however go off after around 10 mins. then casue of the sidewalls they scrub hard on the edges. not very soft have last 8k on my saxo of hard driving

Toyo T1R - Soft sidewalls again. good grip overall however loose there construction on full chat.

Toyo 888 - the best tyre as far as i consider value and performance. not far off the quality of A048's

Toyo T1S - good overall road tyre really like them. hard sidewalls and low road noise. good overall grip in wet and dry conditions

Goodyear eagle F1 A-symmetric- best overall road tyre however poor sizing options

I use mine for occasional journeys and mainly driven hard and on track

    hope this helps.

+1. I've got em atm, and they're shite. Weren't too bad on track (compared to what I was expecting of em), once they'd got very warm, but still not gonna use em again.

For track tyres most use R888s or A048s mate, and they always come back with great reviews, except for on standing water.

toyo T1r's. best road tyre out IMO

    Yoko all the way

ive just got 2 S Drives on the front, so ill see what they're like

Toyo's are shit, wasn't impressed when I had them on the Westcoast.

I have some top end budgets on the 307, Maxxis - faultless tbh! On the Focus I had Continental SportContacts, awesome tyres but expensive - £120 for a 16" one.

didnt rate the contis much, the only good thing about them is they last forever, good motorway tyre.

I thought they was a good handling tyre tbh, but main reason being I need them to last a long time, already done 17,000 miles since I bought the 307 11 months ago.

Eagle F1s are good tyres - Is the tyre I'd go for first choice. However they show signs of wear pretty quickly.
I found my old VTS' Proxy T1S were nice enough too.

Yeah, the F1s do show wear quickly - Mum has them on her Corsa, it's 2 years old with 5,800 miles on it and they are showing wear.

I'm guessing 70k on the back?! lol.

Well I haven't got Conti's on at the moment, they are my next tyre though as I couldn't afford them this time around - 17" wheels FTL.

On the Clio admittedly it only got driven quickly. it showed wear after like 300 miles. lol Sidewalls wear right down.

    Yeah, that's pretty bad.

    Good tyres though.

Got them on the VTS, going to buy them for the back too.
  22. #22
Im currently using some slightly cheaper Nexen's (bit skint lately lol). But i did have some Toyo Proxes and i have to say, immense grip in all cond. imo. But they dont last long.
  23. #23
I've been running Yokohama A539's on the Rallye since i've had it !

Can't fault them tbh! (until it gets wet)

But they are slowly going out of stock or for silly money cos they were discontinued i believe!

Alot of people i know don't rate Toyo's very well!

Most people round here run Eagle F1's or Yoko's.
  24. #24
yeah, they dont do the 539 any more. i went for 2 new ones at my tyre place, when i went there eysterday, i had 2 new S drives waiting for me
  25. #25
a539 yokos on the road, dont think they are too good in wet, but then most tyres are gash

r888s for track, awesome in dry, amusing in the wet
  26. #26
i use toyo proxes t1r's and can reccomend them to anyone quality tyres imo.
  27. #27
ive got the a539s and they seem pretty good all round. not had any reason to comment otherwise with them yet.

    Goodyear Eagle F1 or pilots...............
