I have a hole in my centre section, and want to upgrade.
I have looked at the supersprint race section, which i would have the standard manny and a peco backbox 2 inch for a mk2 vtr. (would really want a magnex box)
Im not fust about performance gains at the mo, but dont want to make it worse!
I have a budget of about £130, should i try and get a 2nd hand magnex system?

I would like it to be as easy as possible as im not super under cars!

if your not after a full system you could try a super sprint centre pipe? i prefere the one with the baffle section in the middle

Whats the sound like without the silenced box? Is it ear bleeding on the m way? Even with standard manifold?

i had a super sprint centre pipe on mine that was straight through with a magnex back box and with a stripped out vts it nwas stupidly loud! after the frist ten mins when the novelty wore off i hated it and i put my magnex centre pipe back on with the box and i never looked back

Supersprint sounds like a bad idea then.
Im having a nightmare!

Seems really hard to get a centre section for a mk2 vtr without replacing other things i.e manifold, or needing something else.
Ideally a magnex centre is what i want. Im not very good with exhausts. How much do magnex centres go for on here 2nd hand?

super spreint also make a centre pipe with a centre box in it mate not a bad exhaust. cost about 120 to 130 if i remember correctly

only other thing is investing in something like a scorpion cat back system for about 300 quid or waiting for a second had magnex to poip up in the forsale section

get a supersprint sraight through centre and a magnex backbox. Perfect combination!

they dont fit together as standard but all you have to do is put a hacksaw through the centre section in the right place and the magnex will slot over it.

create a real raspy sound that isnt too loud.

plus the car doesnt pull aswell with only one baffles section. messes with the back pressure slieghtly. there was a athread on here a few days ago about it. if you do a search on back pressure or centre boxs it might come up

i had a full magnex system, cat back system with backbox, replaced that for the magnex decat and didnt really like the sound too much ...

ive now since replaced the centre section with a supersprint one and would not change it for the world. Ive heard alot of saxos, and i gotta say the ones with the supersprint /magnex look/sound immense. It pulls perfectly throughout the rev range, the change to this also seemed to clear a flat spot i was having lower down the gears, seems to breath much more easily now!

Yeah it is quite loud, but its no way TOO loud, a full supersprint system is much louder than this, i know cos ive had that too lol. On the motorway when sat at about 4.5/5k revs in 5th gear it isnt too loud either, its fine for me! It is louder in a stripped car, but what would you expect from a car made of tin foil?

Normally i wouldnt be fust about noise levels, but i have a 8 month old little boy. And dont want him deaf before his 1st birthday.

if u have an interior in your car, then a supersprint/magnex wouldnt be too loud tbh

funny you should sat that mate. tbh i love the sound of the super sprints with a magnex back box. there are a few people i no who have them and they do sound beautiful with all the raspyness and popping! but its not good for me im afraid, setting off at 6 for work and waking the street up lol! im alot happy with my quiet magnex now. although it has got abit louder since the cams went in for some reason. hope my opinion is of some use mate
