Mk2 VTR, wheres the cat????

   Im just about to get myself a new exhaust system,
   magnex backbox, supersprint centre section (any good?)
   
   But i dont want to be failing my MOT, so where abouts is the cat on a mark 2 vtr? is it before the centre section?? Meaning i can get myself a new centre section and not fail my MOT

   not sure about all mk2's but my vtr the cat is under the car after manifold but before centre section.

   it depends on mark 2s some ar in the mani some are under car
   
   look at your downpipe
   
   is it a 2 inch pipe (cats under the car if it is)
   
   or if its a big boxy thing theres your cat

   if its a later mk2 (eg) late 51 plate-early 02 then its on the down pipe if before then its underneath

   that'll be the centre silencer.
   
   Most mk2 cats are in the manifold. the means that you can fit a race centre section from say the supersprint range and still remain road legal.
   
   If you want to change the manifold you can get Janspeed ones with the sports cat.
