Hi all just wanted to know if any one could help me, i drove my car today bout a 10 mile journey at this point it was running fine then it was left for about 2 hours when i got back in the car to go home i started it up and instantly noticed it sounded different (slugish) struggling to tick over and cutting out if not revved. So i drove it any way but the more i put my foot down the more i could hear this pinking kinda sound then when i stop the car it starts rocking heavily and when you look at the engine thats doing the same has anyone ever had this happen to you? it seems to be problem after problem with this and i've not had the car a month but i love it to much to get rid

You have got oil in that would make it tap like
But don't know why it's runin shit mate

Wrong oil to thin? I heard that could make it tap, if the engine's rocking are the engine mounts ok, one could have snapped.

where abouts are the engine mounts and could this cause the engine to not tick over at idle. thanks for the advice all will get to the bottom of it eventually

mine vtr started doing that and it was headgasket causing low compression in two cylinders.

^would yours still rev up to redline when at stand still cause mine only sounds rough when its below the 4000rpm mark. I took my air control sensor out and it was coverd in oil, put a new one in but made no difference

Coilpack! If its missfiring, it will cause the engine to rock quite severely! Or maybe crank sensor!

no. i would check spark plugs first that will tell you if coilpack is playing up. when mine was tapping and misfiring it it was tapping throughtout the whole rev range just got a bit quieter at top end. if it revving up a sensor is probably gone. is the ecu light on?

i would deffo check spark plugs?
