Hi, i have a 1999 saxo westcoast 1.4 i wanna get as muc out the engine as possible. any ideas

Also is there a bluefin available for this car

I personally havnt seen blufin - I presume it's a sort of remap, Chipwizards can remap the Ecu.

Looking for performance, it'll depend on how much you want to spend. Most hp for £ is to put a 16v engine in. If you wana keep 1.4 can turbo/supercharge.

Can buy cam, exhaust, induction, throttle bodies - upto you

Have a read of progress threads and search on here.

stick a vts engine in it. You're not gona get much over 100bhp with exhaust system, induction, remap, cams etc.

thanks, what is involved in changing over to a vts engine, will it drop straight in. i have a good engine at minute with low mileage i mite just go for the chipwizard n that, thanks for advice.

i think you should stay 1.4, its just different, people always say, just put a VTS engine in, in my eyes it defeats the object, its basically a VTS model then, you will need the ususal breathing mods, good manifold, good catback exhaust system, decat, good induction kit, then good cams and a remap ( chipwizards not bluefin crap ) them dependin on what you can afford/want, either throttle bodies, or turbo, or supercharge, turbo probably has the most potential. and then you can always strip it out that will make it faster. thers not many 1.4s about with good power, would be nice to see soemthing different not just a westcoast, with a VTS engine and breathing mods.

It depedns what people want from the car - if you want more HP, then for your money a 16v is a great option, often cheaper than a cam and remap.

If you want ot keep your 1.4 as a must - then prob best to turbo/supercharge for more HP.

All depends on budget and how much HP he's after. From the outside of mine you'd be hard pushed to see its a 16v - everything Westcoast about my car has remained . . . . . . until you open the bonnet.

If your 17 i dont think your insurance company will be liking you turboing your saxo tbh mate,
You should give them a call and see how many zero's it adds on thats if they dont laugh and hang up
Then think about the mods imo
