Guide to fitting Raceland - VTS Pic Heavy !

  1. #1
Right, I was talking about this in the north east section last night and thought i would post a guide up as it seems most people are baffled when it comes to fitting one of these.

Also as my engine has been pulled apart a fair few times and somewhere along the line ive managed to snap the L piece bit of plastic that i think is your crank case breather pipe ?. So i might aswell bodge that up when im doing it.

    Firstly the broken bit :

    The Soloution :

right i started by adding the Filter and rubber bung bit to silver pipe. Jubilee clip the filter on.

I then added the rubber bit which attaches to the throttle body. I left these loose so i could move them about when fitting to the car.

Adding the surround, again I only hand started all the bolts so i could move and adjust everything when it was attached to the car.

Cleared the origional air box etc out of the engine bay.

    Put everything in place

Lined it up and fastened jubilee clips to the throttle body

I then attached my breather pipe and tightened jubilee clip ( sorry for bad photo strut brace was in the way )

the two simple brakets I made...

Left hand side of enclosure... I simply drilled a hole in slam panel and bolted into place.

Right hand side of slam panel... again drilled a hole and bolted into place.

I then bent the power steering braket so it sits upright and not wonky and bolted it to the braket.

Go round all the bolts and tighten them up, making sure nothing is loose... and thats about it.

hoped it helped, and apologies for the crap phone pics.

    cheers.

Top guide mate, strongly advise using the brackets as on mine I didn't and the carbon effect case fell down into the fan and killed both. Nice touch with the power steering bottle too.

PM a mod so they can put it in the FAQ sticky thread

Mine hits the battery, and is like an inch too far away from the slam panel, I think I need to release the filter a little bit and just attach it to the metal pipe to give me as much length to play with as possible.

mine used to hit the battery but if you unbolt the battery clamp thing you can push it along a few centimeters.

I have tried that, I think I need to bolt it on to pull the silicone that but further down!
