Bilstein gas inserts

  1. #1
I have just been looking at some billie gas inserts for the fros of my 2001 vtr saxo as the std units are completely useless.

I was wondering what the gneeral opinion of the gas shocks is? are they any good as i have never used any of them before!

they are suppose to be 20% stiffer than stock vts suspension which will suit me fine for road use.

    same ...

I have the B8's, the next ones up with matching Bilstein Sprint rear shocks and its damn good setup, 30% stiffer than standard iirc, but it can be harsh at times, so if youre looking for a little softer then they may well be the shocks to go for. If you want decent springs take a look at Eibach sportlines

    i didnt rate the sportlines
    too soft imo
somethink like apex springs are what id choose

    Thanks for the info,

the plan is to get rear's to match the front damper wise then a set of 20-30mm lowering springs for the front perferably a bit stiffer than stock as im not sure about everyone else but i find the front of the vtr to be soft compared to the std torsion bar rear (19mm?).

would apex springs -20 or -30mm
and those B6 by the sound of it dampers front and rear and a 20mm drop on the rear be a good road setup?

i used to race and occassionally do a rally in my old mans rwd 205 so im used to nice firm suspension but i dont think i could but up with it that hard on the road. the stock suspension is a bit soft for my liking!

You sure thats not just the bilstein OE replacement gas shock mate? The b6 shock is advertised on kam racing as 30% stiffer along with the b8 which is also advertised as 30% stiffer, the only difference being the b8 is a shorter travel shock to cope with use with a lowering spring.

Get the part number before you buy.

dont think there is a vts in N.I for a reasonable price thats not been badly abused, bodykitted etc.

thanks for the advise, i will get the part number to compare to those listed on the kam racing site. if they are not the correct dampers then i wil just buy 2 from kam racing.

    Cheers
