New Doors and Paint - Questions...

  1. #1
I posted this in the problems area but I think maybe I should have posted here.

    Hope someone can help...

I've just bought the missus a 2001 Saxo Forte but its in a bit of a mess. The two N/S doors both have dents in them. (its a 5 door)

I've found a guy who is breaking a 1996 Saxo in what appears to be the same colour so my questions are as follows...

Will the doors on a 96 model be the same as a 2001 (Y) model?
I've heared that there was only ever one metalic blue colour used on Saxo's - both appear to be metalic blue what are the chances of it being the same blue?

and also how easy are they to swap? someone mentioned a need for some welding?

    thanks for reading

if the infor is of any use to anyone...

there is a minor difference between a Mk1 and Mk2 door.

The Mk2 door has a little lip on the hinge bracket where as the Mk1 version does not. This means when a MK1 door is put on a Mk2 Saxo the door can only open about a foot.

I shall be using an angle grinder to 'modify' the hinge tonight so it shouldnt be a major problem.
