Rolling Road Results - VTS

  1. #1
had my vts rolling roaded today.

found out my AFR is kind of all over the place (will upload graph later)

Never the less, the results are from the wheels, not the fly wheel.

    119.3bhp @ 7000rpm 104.3mph
    105.0lb @ 5035rpm 75.1mph

sorry about the video quality. disapointed with my phone tbh...

Yes my car is bloody filthy!!

What would people expect these figures to equate to at the fly?

    is that standard?
  3. #3
    what rollers were they?
  4. #4
Also what is that on your exhaust. It sticks out well far lol.

Pair play for having a dyno don though mate

Are you sure that's not a flywheel figure, most vts with a similar spec to your make about 100 at the wheels imo. Also peak power is quite high up the rev range, eg my old cammed vts made peak power at 6600rpm and power is gnerally higher up on a cammed car.

what exhaust is that mate? Theres a fair length sticking out the back lol
  7. #7
that sounds lieka flywheel figure thats y i asked if it was standard...

    its at the wheels...

the guy doing it did mention something has been done that I didnt know, bar the usual breathing mods... I have no idea.

    this the dyno.

and thats not my exhaust sticking out that far.... it's got a probe inside.

the thing in his exhaust is a sensor probe

119 at wheels works to 145ish at fly
dependant on your spec its either running extremely well of on the lower side of what id expect

i would say thats a good result if its at the fly, but if your saying its at the wheels and it doesnt have uprated camshafts and just breathing mods then those rollers are WAY out.

That's more a cammed spec saxo or a lad motorsport spec dyno.

thats the thing, when i bought the car, i was told it had something done to it, the guy wasnt sure himself.

Its also a tad lumpy on idle, and the AFR states i could do with a re-map...

pull the covers off and look for any markings no your cam then
as unmapped cams may be around that figure
  14. #14
I would, but i've only just sealed them and have no gasket sealant left.

If this piccy helps at all to anyone?

is it me or is anyone else noticing that the engine seems cold, condensation from exhaust pipe ?

at 9am this morning...it was bloody freezing.

The engine and transmission was warmed up fine before hand, no way would i let it on the dyno cold

hard to say from just a piccy of the cams

would need to be able to read markings if we could see them
  18. #18
What mods have you got mate? That you know of?
  19. #19
    Stock figures are:

    Max BHP @ 6600
    Max lb/ft 5200

If yours has made max BHP @ 7000, then you have a different spec camshaft than standard (as the power is higher than standard) or the rollers are useless. 120 BHP @ the wheels is very high if your map is all over the shop.

The torque figures seem a little high also for an ATW readout.

    Guy I know got his 106 GTi RR'd at 111.7 BHP ATW + 94.5 lb/ft
    My VTS was 108 BHP ATW + 90 lb/ft

the mods I know of are

    Supersprint full race (decat system)
Green panel with 73mm CAF to foglight (all the resonator shit ripped off)
    Raceland 4-2-1 heatwrapped.
