Black strips on door?

   what are the black strips on the doors by the window? just for protection? do they just peel off?

   Peel off but sometimes can leave a mess so i recommend you leave them on or if there looking shabby take them off and replace them.
   
   Can get some carbon looking ones if you like hope this helps

   heatgun and some good cleaning products to remove them
   looks good without them on some cars

   as alex-vts said, use a hairdryer/heatgun (especially in this weather) to get them off easier. make sure the surface underneath is cleaned off the glue/sticky residue then leave or replace.
   
   replacements can be found on ebay under "saxo b pillar vinyls" etc.
   
   if leaving them off then i'd say to make sure and get some polish on that paint to protect it asap
