if its a standard one im pretty sure they're bolted onto the boot, so simply find said bolts and undo
as for fitting, you can either bond it on (armache!) or mark up and drill some holes then put it on OEM style, but until i know how they're put on i'd leave it
also drilling randomly into your car isn't a great idea

the mk1 spoilers were an optional extra and bolt on through the top of the boot. the mk2 spoilers bolt through the glass.
the spoiler might be a pain to remove as it should be fitted under tension so over time the spoiler doesnt sag.
remember the car your taking it off will be left with two holes at the top of the boot...

Thanks for the replys everyone. We spoke to a guy the other day who said he could get us the same spoiler for cheaper and he will remove it for us so this was sort of a pointless thread sorry but hopefully someone else will find it usefull.
Its just a matter of fitting it without making a mess of it.

So removing a spoiler from a MK 1 would leave bolt holes in the boot?
