headgasket...on my vtr. 'wet liners??'

  1. #1
hi.. last night i decided it was time to do my headgasket before it too bad. its been going a while now.. so last night i whipped the head off the car.. was pretty simple. had it off in bout 40minutes.. when i looked at pistons to check they all okay.. but it doesnt look like it has the 'wet liners'.. looks much the same as my old nova 1600cc block.. is this heard of?? also im havin head port n polished as we speak my gf's dad and my throttle boddie.. he's well into the engines. worked with engines for many years and used to race in his younger days.. shall get some before and after pictures up for you guys.. but its all going well.. treaing it to oil and filter, head set.. and all the breather filters cleaned and air filter changed from big open to a cheapo semi enclosed jobby.. as it sounded lush on old nova. but yeah. ill get some progress pictures up later..

the VTR is a Cast iron block so doesnt have wet liners, only alloy blocks (1.0, 1.1, 1.3 and 1.4 from AX gt's ) have liners

AX GT is an alloy block
the AX GTI is a 1.4 cast block

if its a cast block it doesnt need wet liners
