When did it start to happen?
disconect the battery for 10 minits and reconnect it, start up and leave to warm, see what happens, this will reset the ECU
Iv had this problem before when installing induction kit, i broke one of the pipes and my revs wer up, told this tabout 5 times now lol
Have you played around with something at all?
    Might be fuel pump
Wont be battery coz if it cut out the 1 1st time it would start up again if it was running off the battery, because once your car is started it runs off the alternator.

to reset your ecu you should dissconect the battery fully +&- and leave OVERNIGHT because if its only left for a short time the electrodes in the car (in airbags ect) wont discharge fully so the ecu will not be reset

    hope this helps
