ASHLEY backbox on a VTR!

   Hiiiiiiiiiiiii,
   
   I have an Ashley 3" backbox on my mk2 VTR with standard centre section and manifold!
   i want it to be louder and raspy and pop and bang now and then! i have searched this already and it seems people with the ashley backbox on their VTS's pop and bang with straight through centre sections and manifolds that remove the cat, but i havent heard of it on a VTR yet!
   
   Can anyone reccomend what the impact on the sound would be if i fitted the supersprint race centre sction and then what the diffence would be if i decatted it by fitting a 4-2-1????

   Vts are 16v power though bud,so will be bit more noise.......

   ashley with 421 manifold and decat should be raspy and pop even on a vtr
   
   ive seen 1.1s pop and bang. lol

   what do you think is more important first to get the popping and banging? centre section/ decat manifold??????? or do you need both?

   i have a vtr and i have just gt a straight through centre section from cat and myn is raspy n pops

   i own a 3" ashley back box and supersprint race centre pipe on my 2001 vtr, ive only had it on 2 days its loud as owt and on overrun and and changing down gears its just started to burble n pop slightly sounds mint tho, ive got a 4-2-1 raceland/janspeed decat mani cumin at end of month cant w8 to here wht its guna sound like

   Decat will make the most noticeable difference, both to sound and performance.

   The Supersprint race section is half the price of a manifold, so I would start with that. It wont de-cat the car until you replace the manifold though.

   i have a ashley system with a 4-2-1 supersprint so it's decatted. don't pop and bang too much but it soo raspy sounds like a rally car just not too much popping. this is on a cammed saxo VTR x reg
   
   usaully the smaller the backbox tip i find them to be more and more raspier and bigger tips 4" tend to pop and bang more.

    i have an ashley backbox on mine...can anyone gets theirs to fit perfectly though as i find no matter how hard i try mine never sits quite right

    Thanks for the replies.....whatever i do it sounds like it will be good! oh and changing the manifold Decats mine anyway cos it's a mk2 so will be killing 2 birdies with one stone! i'll do that first and when i am it, cut the silencer out of the middle section as i don't want to spend anymore money on a centre section! Not for a while anyway!

    super centre pipe will see the results you want. it will be rather raspy!

    ive got a standard mani, with custom cat back system and mines pops, bangs and crackles and just waiting for a de-cat so i can fit that and my 4-2-1
