Saxo VTS / 206 Gearbox

   Are the 2 boxes the same. I was thinking of gettin a 206xsi or 206gti gearbox as I have found one cheapish...
   Are the ratios the same or would I be better off getting VTS one. It's all going together for a turbo conversion I am planning.
   
   Any help would be great.

   I'm pretty sure a 206 Gti box wouldnt fit. Not sure about the XSi

   I'm 100% shure that gti or xsi will not fit, becouse my friend have 206xsi and I sell him a gearbox from my VTS and hi is not the same. You will fited the gearbox with small modifications. But they are not the same. And VTS have a short gearbox then 206.

   ma is just the type of gearbox, some pugs use the BE gearbox which has different mountings etc

    the 206gti gear ratios i will list below from that site.
    
    Ratio 1: 3.455
    Ratio 2: 1.870
    Ratio 3: 1.360
    Ratio 4: 1.051
    Ratio 5: 0.861
    Final Drive: 3.790
    
    Not sure if the mountings are the same on the 206 ma gearbox however.

    That's something I will have to look into. I might just find a decent VTS box as it is less hassle.

    my mate (williamsvts) will be putting his up for sale this week as hes fitting a different box to his.
    
    drop him a pm, i have drove the car with that box on nothing wrong with it at all

    will give you quicker acceleration, but shitter mpg and rev higher in 5th as teh VTR has a long final drive.

    So if I use a Final drive from Vtr on Vts I will get a short gearbox?

    can be done, only worth if you can take a gearbox apart yourself tho, expensive other wise.
