spraying the bump strips ??

   just been searching the forum and spoted alot of very shiny bumpstrips as if they where laquered has anyone done this i use auto glym bumper care but does my head in always doing it lol
   
   would be better laquered and polished now and again would this work ?

   no, you cant just lacquer plastic.
   
   the ones you have seen will have been painted black then lacquered.
   
   you need to plastic prime the bump strips before paint.

   Im getting mine done at the bodyshop in a couple of wheeks after i get the torsion bar lowered and a good old service

   i think ill attempt them my self, shouldnt be to hard im doing my rims gloss black so ill do them while im at it.

   Better off sanding the texture out if you want it to look any good, if u don't the gloss with just highlight the texture more.

   just key the surface and use high build primer. sand that smooth then paint.

   I've had it before where you prime the texture and it creeps back through (sinks) when it gets warm and you can see it anyway. Depends how fussy you are at the end of the day

    i cant see high build primer sinking. it would only be about 1mm think, not really thick enough to sink. its not like its a thick layer of filler.
    
    i've not experience it anyway.

    i didn't use primer at all just sanded down and sprayed black. mine are fine

    if your going to do it, you may as well do it properly.

    I agree when i have the money im going to get mine done. plus you kinda have to respray the whole panel's not just the strips. It's up to you bud.

    just the strips. probly about £120-150

    I also just sprayed mine without plastic priming them just regular primer and they still look as good as they did when i first did them and that was a couple of years ago
