80-150 is about right mate any more than that and there robbing b*****ds

I paid 150 for both the clutch and the fitting, so I can't imagine the fitting alone would cost that much.

I paid £130 for fitting and clutch kit!

my god those are all better prices than the quotes i got today most were between £175-£400. But i can get the clutch kit (valeo) from work for £60 (including clutch plate, release bearing etc) and someone said he would fit it for £60...but do i get it done at a garage?

Is there much to bodge on fitting a clutch, or shall i go for the cheaper option? The clutch will be quality, whatever i choose, its just whether i get it fitted at a garage for 175 or a regular customer at work for £60?

not really much to bodge, a saxo clutch is a doddle for any mechanic, id get the valeoclutch and let the guy fit it for 60.

I was quoted and paid £250 for a valeo clutch and fitting.

right, got it done today, a mate of my dad's who owns a clutch place did it for me for 100 quid, with me supplying the clutch (£60) and found oil all over the old clutch turns out i need a new gearbox aswel as the first two gears are knackered and the seal is broken. Theyre currently reconditioning and replacing all broken components. will be 250+vat at best...£350+vat at worst...plus 60 quid clutch...plus 100 fitting for clutch...

    total estimated repair cost: £400-500
cost of the car when bought last year: £450
the look on my face when i got the phonecall: priceless

So long as your happy dude, thing is after that's all done you'll have peace of mind and when some people are spending close to £400 for just a clutch to be supplied and fitted then it ain't all bad
