How often do you clean your filter?

   as the title says how often do you clean your filter element in like a raceland or BMC, or even open filters, i clean mine every 3-4 monthes or so, as mine is the pipercross foam, i put it in a bucket of soapy water then rinse and leave to dry over night them put it back on. car feels a little better after its been washed.

   not that often!
   but when i do i just take it apart and put a hover to it lol!
   suck all the crap off it lol

   Green recommend every 10,000 km you should be checking, and possibly cleaning.
   These need to be maintained more regularly as its only the oil on the filter that catches the dirt

   once a month when i get bored and im putting the spanners to good use i give my filter abit of a clean

   Once a year. I do a 6 month/6k service too, but only yearly as your not meant to clean em too often. The grime they pick up is meant to help the filtration

   your ment to oil them arnt you not just give them a bath in soapy water?

   I clean my open green filter every 5-6K or depending on how dirty

    yer i know dont think saxo_vtr123 oils it though unless he does and just didnt mention it

    I know you are supposed to oil K&N type filters but do you really oil the foam on a pipercross one?
    Never owned one so I wouldnt know... just wondered out of pure curiosity.
    
    I dont generally clean my filters I normally buy a new one soon enough that theres no point in cleaning... lol

    all non-paper ones catch the dirt with oil.
    No oil = no filtration except for birds and large insects

    Only time il ever oil a foam filter is if I ever get round to getting some Jenveys! Only just got my vts 3 months ago so im dreaming at the moment!

    Twice a year is ok, or maybe three times.

    Depends, during winter rallies every 2, around 300 miles.
    On the summer ones after every one... 150 miles...
