#2gti-6 seems to be the most popular conversion.
406 brembos aswell. -
#3how much do they cost? and where can I get them from?
-
#4aslo the wilwood 4 pots off rallydesign are a good choice
there 500 odd quid but worth it imo -
#5av just had a look at them wilwood 4 pots, they are mental brakes, but would you really need them unless your where running over like 200bhp?
-
#8but wouldnt soemthing a bit cheaper just like some bigger brakes of like a gti-6 with soem descent pads be enough for most saxos? you would save a lot of money, are these really nessecery?
-
#9Well standard saxo brakes are crap, tbh only reason i changed mine for wilwoods that aswell as i have engine plans
, i got mine for 380 back in the day when i organised a group buy and tbh it was money very well spent imo, the pads and discs will last ages too by the looks of them
-
#10these will out perform most single pot systems
and from personal use
its not nessecity
its the ability to stop/slow down well
ive seen a 306 running ferrari brakes
minis with porsche brakes

#11thanks guys for all your input I think i'll go for the gti-6 brakes
-
#12quick question would I need the Lucas type with spring at the top or BOSCH type?
-
#13also are the standard gti-6 brakes good enough or should I get ones which are drilled and grooved? can I drill/grove them myself?
-
#14either gti6 brakes will fit mate
get decent pads
discs make minimal difference -
#15Either gti6 brakes will fit
you cant groove or drill thew yourself
cheap drilled disks arnt worth the money as they crack from the holes
good quality pads and standerd disks will be fine
braided brake lines will also help, see thread in for sale -
#16ok standard ones will do, would these on ebay be ok on my saxo vts 2002???
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEUGEOT-306-GT...1%7C240%3A1318 -
#17the rears in that link probably wont fit the saxo
-
#18how comes??? is it because its for models 1996-2001? do I need ones for 2002 onwards?
-
#19i paid £80 for 306 GTi6 set up, but replaced the front discs and pads, as well as fitted braided brake lines at the same time
-
#20oh ok so I just have to replace the front brake discs and pads, is this because the front brakes do the majority of the braking? Also do I need the gti-6 brakes from a particular year? say before 2001 or after 2001?
