Decat help

   i got my full stainless exhaust system fitted today. My cat is in the manifold..is there anyway i can decat the car without replacing the whole manifold? If not im going to get a raceland manifold, looks a bit of a pain to fit. Also what do you do at MOT Time? Surely dont put the standard manifold back on.

   exactly that wack the manifold with the cat on back on get mot swap back. its much easier with the cat under the car but you dont have that option

   ooh but you have to move the airfilter etc to fit the raceland so how do you get the standard mani back on?

   once youve moved the 'oil' filter with the conversion kit you can use either manifold without changing it again. Is the exhaust youve had fitted a custom welded one or a replacement part you bought? If its the latter u can fit ur manifold and then buy a mk1 cat and just swap that section of the exhaust rather than the mani. Bout £20 ive seen them for in for sale section i think.

   exactly the problem im havin at the minute mate i went to fit my 4branch 2nite (ashley system)but wont fit need to move the oil filter so rather than pissin about with changin manifolds at mot time im going to get a standard mk1 mani and down pipe, get the mani ported and then fit that and i will decat it as i have a full custom stainless system and ill cap the second lamda,may not get me as much power gains as a 4branch but saves fuckin around

   hmmmm im unsure what to do now. My cat is in the mani and the full system is just the backbox with straight through centre section.. but its welded together like all one piece if thats what you mean?

   So if i got a standard mk1 manifold, i could put that straight on without doing any modifications???

   yeh standard mk1 manifold and down pipe means the cat would be under the car come mot time.but will make it straight throught from manifold back.you have to use the lamda sensor in the top of the manifold and cap the 2nd one thats under the car tho

    sorry but in like but ive got a 8v raceland 4-2-1 and the oil converter for sale.
    was on my car untill mot but im leaving it off now as i carnt be arsed to put it back on. £50 for it if anyone intrested. only thing is i had to put a dent in it as it was touching the oil pressure sensor but is fine.
    stoke on trent area if intrested.

    can i not take my cat off my manifold somehow? doesnt it detatch from the manifold so i can replace it with a mk1 downpipe?
