Uprated Standard Air Filter or Aftermarkt?

  1. #1
Wondering what would be benifical for power gains? A up rated air filter for the standard 1.1 air box or remove that and wack a aftermarket filter on? I'm looking for a small power increase.

I have a hunch that a uprated standard airfilter (That fits into the air filter box) will be just as good? Obv i'd make some modifications with the air scoop (Out comes the ice cream tub lol)

    Thanks

Not into wanting to spend that much. How about a open cone with like others say, a fog light shell around it to stop it sucking in hot heat?

    Ta!

    ok.....

I have a few more questions:

Could i have several air filters all spaced out just behind my grill and all rigged into one pipe and then do it that way (Would have to be custom hosing, probally from B&Q or something, i aint care. Only down side i can think of is the heat from manifold (Can cover the area below the filter in tin foil to repeal the heat. And there my be too much cool air getting into the engine probally damaging it?

Or, Could i get a open air filter, and ask a plastic company to mould a shape to get as much COOL air in as possible or make my own 'Funnel' out of a large sheet of plastic glued together with strong glue?

May sound stupid, but at the end of the day you never know.

if your going to make a cone shape filter your self mate i would buy a raceland filter from kam racing with the green filter and the carbon scoop for £77 quid best kit imo
