Hi, I have seen a few threads/posts about this topic, but i want to be 100% sure. Basically; I bought a 2000 reg 1.1 saxo forte today, and want to know what i have, s or m pi ? what is the difference? And which is better. So far i believe they stand for; Single and multiple point injection?! Is this right? Thanks, Sam.

A 2000 forte will have the MPI engine. The 1.1 MPI is more efficient than the SPI, its smoother, and picks up a little quicker too

Single point injection was the modern replacement for the carburettor, only the jet was replaced for an injector, And few sensors were addded so the ECU could calculate the correct ammount of fuel, Very basic and simple system, the early corsa's had them and the saxo 1.1's, And i think the early puntos.

Multipoint injection consists of 4 injectors, one for each cylinder, this system is more complex and involves more sensors to control fueling. This system is also more effecient and provides improved performance.
