News : fitting a mk1 manifold to a mk2 is possible and cheaper than 4branch

    well just to let everyone know if your having problems fitting a 4branch or dont want to fit a 4branch purely because of the filter relocating,well today i fitted a mk1 manifold and downpipe no problem only thing i had was i needed to drill a hole in the down pipe and weld a lamda boss in place and then i capped the second lamda sensor,so now come mot time all i need to do is take my decat pipe out and put the cat in place problem solved dont need to change over manifolds or anything like that simple really.if anyone would like pics to show then give me a shout cheers

    right some people say a mk1 manifold and down pipe wont fit a mk2 because u would need to move the oil filter well you dont i dont it today and all that needs moved it the lamda sensor just need to drill a hole and weld a boss in

    ive got a mk2 furio with cat in the manifold. Ive just been offered a 106 rallye downpipe. Would you buy this and replace the cat with it or would you buy a mk1 Mani?

    how is it cheaper than a 4 branch lol, 4 branch adds way more power, and helps the car rev free'er than any standard manifold...

    well i fitted a 106 rallye mani/downpipe today to my mk2 vtr 98bhp model, and i HAD to move the oil filter, because the 106 mani comes down on an angle rather than straight like the mk2 one does, i didnt think it was possible for u 2 have dun wht uve dun, wud be good to see pictures mate.

    yes yu will the oil filter will need moving as the 106 rallye downpipe is a totaly different shape it comes down on an angle and fouls tight on the oil filter, its that tight it doesnt line the mani up properly, so yes u will need to move the oil filter to a MK1 matey. Nice and easy to do if you follow the guide on here,cost me £10 for the bits to move for the oil filter.

    If you have an early mk2 it might be the case that your oil filter is already in the mk1 position, Can you put up some pictures please

    So if i get the mk1 oil filter and parts will it fit ok? will it fit onto my exhaust and to the top part of the manifold ok?

    you can get a mk1 mani and down pipe for £10, were as a 4 branch cost more like £80 used for a cheap one.
    that makes it a cheap alternative

    im going to get the 106 rallye downpipe and get the mk1 oil filter. Then bang it all on. Shouldnt be hard..i hope haha

    it doesnt give u the same power gains as a 4branch but its a cheaper alternative to decating ur car and saves u forking out for a 4branch and movin the filter.ill get pics 2moro in daylight, i had cut and weld a lamda boss so it would fit because if not then the lamda sensor would foul the filter but its an easy and cost free mod

    seriously, i wudnt dare put mk1 mani on, wot u trying to achieve its still restricted, 4 branch all the way.

    Ah, I get it now. Its a £10 way to decat a mk2, minimal power gains though.

    same gains as a mk1 decat which cost a lot more than a mk1 mani

    im just putting a106 rallye downpipe on my furio then when i get a vts in a couple of years ill have a propper racing manifold on that
