Large centre section piece what is it? and what does it do?

   i've noticed under my car there is like a centre section of the exhaust which has a larger diameter to it. It is huge lol What is it? Is it the silencer? Reason i'm asking is because it catches on speedbumps and other shit and was wondering if it can be replaced with a piece that is the same size diameter as the rest of the exhaust.

   will either be the center silencer box or cat

   must be silencer then because i had cat removed. Can these also be removed? or will the sound be just too much?

   yer you can buy many different straight through center sections, the supersprint race pipe is a nice one

   so the catback centre pipe for example if i had a cat fitted would go from the backbox to the cat?

   yes it would or the race pipe goes from the manifold to backbox
