Aftermarket seat Sub-Frames....

    Reet,

I've got the opportunity to pick up some awesome corbeau recliners.

Problem is they're out of a corolla so the frames are different.

    Do I....

Buy the specific sub-frames for a saxo from Corbeau (don't even know if you can)

    OR

Get hold of standard saxo sub-frames and go weld-crazy.

I'd imagine it'd be more cost effective to go with the latter.

I have access to a very good fabricator.

    Ta loves x

Ive made my own subframe, but then again I dont give a toss how they look. Theyre strong and safe so thats good enough for me!

Corbeau do sell tailored subframes for the saxo but theyre about £120 each. If its gonna be a show stopper, better off going tailored for the looks. If theyre coming with Corolla subframes it wouldnt hurt to offer them up first and see how much modification they would need.

Why? A good fabricator could make some nice ones for much cheaper than £120 each I would think. And still change left to get them plastic coated. Could get really smart subframes for probably half that price.
Now I want to powder coat mine...not that they are very visible

Unless of course you want tilting, sliding, dancing subframes

    subframes arent that much
i got sparco ones for my omps for 35 quid each

its the sidemounts that cost more and tbh i would still just buy proper ones
imagie your seat coming loose in the car

    it wouldnt be fun

but reliners will be flat frames not sidemounts so wont cost much
