#2if i remember correctly, i'm sure the mk2 exhaust center section might be a bit longer than the center of the mk1's exhaust for some reason. could get a custom section made up but imo not worth the hassle.

by looking at them wouldnt u be able to disconnect the decat pipe bit that covers the diffrence on mark two so it would fit the mk1 -
#4anyone?
-
#5the mk2 98bhp model is difrent as the cat is in the manifold but if your fitting a mk2 to a mk1 it will act as a decat. if fitting a mk1 to mk2 you will need a longer pipe a decat will probley fit the diffrence
i think that will be the only difrence -
#6so if you didnt use the front pipe supplied on the mk2 vtr pic above would it connect straight to the cat!
-
#7anyone? im needing to know as i may buy! the lad whos selling seems to think that this will work. just needing a few peeps to let me know this is ok? will the fitment be the same to the cat as it would to the front section
-
#8by the looks of that pic yeah but it depends what exhaust cause im sure mine goes straight to the manifold (mk298bhp) il have a look when i can for you
-
#9the bloke has told me it has 3 pieces like in the pic do you think jetex have just made an extension to the system to fit the mark twos. im thinking the price is more because basically your buyin the decat pipe aswell to make it fit. but im just thinkin! :s
-
#10yeah thats what they probley would of done
-
#11It does look that way in the diagram.
-
#12got an email from jetex...
The systems are quite different,if you look at www.jetex.co.uk you will see
the dates of the models.
The de-cat pipe used for MK1 is used as an extension pipe for the Mk2 so
that it fits to the down pipe of the MK 2.
We have stock.
Thanks,
how are they diffrent if they do use the decat pipe? is it a diffrent shape or are the brackets in diffrent positions or summit :s ive sent another email back askin anyway -
#13dont see the brackets been in dif places u never know though
cant u check with the exhaust your buying and your standard 1 -
#14had a look at mine when fitting my manifold tonight and its only two pipes its not an extra pipe for the decat
-
#15alrite mate maybe its diffrent between systems as the bloke who is selling said his is made up of 3 pieces and the pic above is in three pieces. the bloke from jetex said the decat pipe from a mark one is used as an extension? has anyone else changed exhausts overs from a mk1 to mk2 when buying a new car or in the for sale section?
