hi i have a vtr mk1 and am wanting to put a mk2 vtr engine in would it all fit and run off the same managemant? (ecu)
vtr engine swap for newer one

#2dont think so as the newer vtr's are 98 bhp and have a 3 plug ecu where as the mk1 has a single plug ecu.
-
#3As above is right, but if its older than 2001 mk2 it should still be a single play ECU!
-
#4could i not use my old loom and ecu and just use the new engine? would it run ok and are all the sensers the same??
-
#5hey, i have a mk2 engine in my mk1 , its being run of the mk1 ecu but tbh this isnt the best idea as it brings up the engine light lol
-
#6how did you wire it in because i heard you have to unblock an ecu?? is it simply plug in??
-
#7well i have brought it like this, but having a look at the wiring its pretty gash, its got all the mk2 bits on it, looks like the previous owner took the end of the mk1 loom and cut it and attached it to mk2 so it works, cant be sure though heres a pic of the ecu..

#8does it all run fine??
-
#9yeah goes like a train too, not one problem with the engine or electrics, other than the engine light up on the dash, but if you do this citroen will no longer have anything to do with the car , as i found out.1 user thanked this post:
