Spraying Chevrons

  1. #1
OK, so I'm off to Halfords tomorrow for a can of white spray paint.

Want to spray ma Chevies white.

    How do they unclip?
    Should I sand down first?
    Laquer/Primer needed?
Maybe something more special than just white?

Will be on my Posi blue.

Take the grille off and you will see the clips, push them in and they will unclip

yes you should sand down first, preparation is essential to get a good finish

    primer, colour, laquer

    gloss white maybe

forgot to say, you want about 3/4 coats of primer colour laquer

make sure you leave well to dry between primer/colour etc i.e overnight

    So 3 coats of each?

    How would yellow look?
  5. #5
    yes mate - 3/4

gradually build up the coats, don't just cover it in one go

yellow....... depends on what colour wheels etc are

look up a member called bakkipouch, he had yellow parts on a posi blue

i can tell you that white looks good on posi blue

Are you not leaving it over night for it all to dry?
  19. #19
nice a simple mod that i thinks makes quite i difference to the front end, i sprayed mine black(i have a black vtr) and cut the slats out, looks cool

They were bone dry when I fitted them. Didn't go with the final laquer coat.

You should remove the slats mate not restore them tbh. That would set them off
